3 Wheel Double Buggy

Seats
The majority of triple buggies begin life as single pushchairs. However, some can convert to take an additional seat or carrycot by converting adapters (these are more commonly found in tandem buggies). You'll also see that some models let you add a ride-on board for older children who want to walk but still need some assistance.
For a light-weight option that's great for city streets, take a look at the Joie Evalite Duo. It's easy to move and comes with a large basket that has plenty of storage space. It can be used for twins beginning at birth and will accept two car seats or a carrycot with a seat. However, the seats need to face forwards and there's not enough space for a shopping bag under which is why you'll need a sidepack for this.
Mountain Buggy Duet will be a good option for you when you love off-roading. It's a side by side with the slimmest footprint of any double buggy on the market. This makes it easier to pass through doors with narrow openings and on public transport and enables you to climb up and down kerbs without much trouble. It comes with 30 different seating configurations as well as a built-in table for older children who prefer to walk and a 'cinema' mode which raises the back seats to provide better visibility.
The phil&teds dots are great single buggys that are easily modified to accommodate two (or three!) in a variety of configurations. This is especially helpful when you have a child in a car seat, because the frame can be fitted with a wedgie that allows for optimal position, and also car seat adapters to a wider range of brands.
Suspension
The quality of the suspension on a 3-wheel double buggy is crucial to how easy it will be for you and your child to push. It is important to have a smooth ride as babies can feel every bump on the road. This is especially the case if you're driving on rough terrain like grass or unpaved roads. Some models also have locking front wheels to help in maneuvering and navigating obstacles like curbs.
Some models have tyres with air filled which are ideal for all-terrain rides, but they can be prone punctures. Make sure you have a spare set of tyres in your trunk. Some models have foam or gel-filled tyres that are designed to cushion bumps. They can be less likely to puncture, but they may cause discomfort for your child if they decide to run.

MFM reviewer Kath took the Urban Glide 2 through its tests with her infant and three years old son, and found it was able to handle tricky terrain: "it navigated effortlessly over bumpy pavements and grass, cobbles and dirt tracks easily and was able to maneuver around corners and climb up and down kerbs. The 16" rear wheels, combined with the lockable swivel wheels on the front, make it a very comfortable jogging experience. Folding
A 3 wheel double buggy folds very easily for storage. There are models that fold flat or stand up (as though they were in the shape of a pushchair) and those that open to reveal a more umbrella-style folding with an operated break. In general the more wheels a buggy comes with, the easier it will be to navigate on rough terrain. This is especially true if your wheels are larger than the average size. You will have more stability and it's less likely that you will be forced to flip or tip your child.
A popular option is the iCandy Wave, which can be used from birth with an infant car seat, and then converts to a side-by-side double buggy when your child is old enough to allow them to sit next to each one. It's a light option that is simple to push. It also comes with a bumper bar as well as a rain cover.
Another option is the phil&teds sport that is a future-proof model since it's great as a single buggy right from the start and then adapts to accommodate 2 (or even 3!) All of this fits into its small footprint. It has a clever 3-wheel design and the sling seat to provide superior manoeuvrability, stability and the ability to pop the kerb.
